BEd (ECE) - Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)

This program involves four years' full-time study or equivalent part-time years. Graduates will be recognised as four-year-trained early childhood teachers.

Distance Education

This course is available by distance education study for specfic applicants only. If you have previous tertiary qualifications in infants, primary, secondary or adult teaching or a TAFE Diploma/Associate Diploma you will be given credit for previous studies.

General Requirements

  1. Obtain an aggregate of at least 96 credit points, including
  2. at least 84 credit points in units offered by the Institute of Early Childhood, at least 27 of which in units at 300 level or above
  3. at least 6 credit points in units not offered by the Institute of Early Childhood
  4. 12 credit points in units offered anywhere in the University other than units with the prefixes ECE, ECED, ECGP, ECPR, ECH, ECHP, ECHH, at least 6 credit points of which shall be at 200 level or above
  5. and completion of other specific requirements as set out in the Schedule of Undergraduate Programs
