ACST344: Survival Models |
This unit will enable students to model decrements, to estimate decrement rates from actual experiences, to compare them with the rates expected from standard tables and to prepare new standard tables. This involves a consideration of risk factors and the effects of selection; design of data collection; statistical analysis of the observed rates, graduation of the observed rates, testing the graduation. Single decrement, multiple decrement and multiple state models will be considered. Single decrement survival models will be used to analyse the present value of the payments under life insurance and annuity contracts.
