AUST200: Australian Perspectives |
What is Australia? Who are Australians? This unit introduces students to ongoing themes or features or problems of Australian identity, history and society, and to the field of Australian studies. Staff from a number of Departments will be contributors. Topics will be chosen from the following areas: environmental history, gender relations, Aboriginal Australia, legal issues, Australian literature and film, Australian economic history. The unit should have particular appeal for students who wish to engage in multidisciplinary study and for overseas and exchange students in need of a general introduction to Australian society.
