CMGT130: Mathematics and Statistics Appreciation |
This unit is designed for students to develop both the skills and confidence necessary to handle elementary mathematics and statistics in the workplace. As this is the only mathematics course offered in the Diploma in Community Management, it will run over a full year. The unit will be divided into four parts: Arithmetic; Mathematics in the Workplace; Introductory Statistics; and Probability and Statistics in Real Life. The emphasis of the course will be on developing the ideas of and logical approach to problem solving, as well as acquiring technical, computing and writing skills. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage will be integrated into the curriculum wherever possible.
