CMGT232: Academic and Business Communication 3

This unit deals with report writing and submission presentation. We will examine a variety of business reports from Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations, and students will have the opportunity to practice report writing for themselves. Conventions for the running of business meetings and for minute taking will also be discussed. Once again there will be a continuing emphasis on the development of useful writing skills for the Australian business community.

The unit will also focus on the language and presentation of proposals, submissions, and grant applications. Working either in a group or individually, students will prepare a submission or grant application. Since an oral presentation is an intrinsic part of this semester's work, throughout the unit students will be given the opportunity to practice both impromptu and prepared speeches.
