This unit examines the role of economic evaluation in public policy making and includes practical applications. Topics examined include the nature of public decisions, social objectives of efficiency and justice, the role of economics, the philosophical foundations of economics (value judgments and welfare criteria), the role of markets and prices, the role of cost-benefit analysis and other evaluation methods.
