HLTH300: Health Placement

This unit provides an off-campus, workplace-based integrated learning experience in a health-related field for students in their third year of study for a Bachelor of Health degree. Placements may be undertaken in a range of areas (e.g. health policy, planning, promotion, research, development, care, and/or counseling) and across a range of sectors (e.g. government, media, industry, unions, non-profit, industry and professional associations, etc). Students will complete a discrete project during their placement (e.g. researching and writing a report on a specific issue), the terms of which will be negotiated and agreed between the student, workplace supervisor, and academic supervisor. As far as possible, placements will be arranged in accordance with each student's background, skills, experience, professional/academic interests and career aspirations.

Students will be required to complete approximately 20 days on work placement plus 3, one day workshops on campus.
