LAW314: Constitutional Law and Administration I

Constitutional law is the basic legal structure of the state and is normally set out in a Constitution. This unit will mainly examine the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia - studying what it contains, what it omits, the judiciary's struggle to read an imperial document suitably for an industrialising and independent nation, how it compares with other modern constitutions, and current proposals for reform. The unit will also provide an introduction to administrative law and will satisfy the legal profession's requirements in both constitutional and administrative law.
