This unit provides an understanding of various international legal principles, rules, norms and practices, as well as their role in shaping and reshaping the contemporary international system, which is also put to the test over facts of our international life in order to assess its operation, adequacy and effectiveness in keeping pace with controversial international events. The rapid and profound transformation of international law in terms of its constantly expanding horizon and orientation is highlighted and commented upon. Are these remarkable changes in the progressive development of international law?
