MATH336: Partial Differential Equations |
MATH336 is a companion to MATH335, concentrating on the application of topology and geometry to the analysis of the solutions of ordinary and partial differential equations. Topics will be selected from metric spaces, fixed-point theorems, linear systems, linearisation of non-linear equations, stability, singular points, limit cycles and strange attractors; classification of partial differential equations, characteristics, initial and boundary-value problems, Green's functions.
