MCSI203/303: Seeking the Good Society: Conversations on Justice, Freedom and Order |
What sort of society do we want to live in? What values do we want to promote as the basis for a healthy Australian social environment? Every day individuals, organisations and policy-makers within our community make decisions that shape the future, yet rarely do we step back from the immediate circumstances to ask ourselves the bigger questions about where our society is heading, whether we like the direction it's taking, and what we can do about it. This unit provides an opportunity to build a personal framework of values and ideas, using historical examples and contemporary issues as catalysts for reflection and for a growing understanding of the possibilities and challenges involved in dreaming of a better society.
