MCSI211/311: Knowing and Experiencing God: An Introduction to Christian Spirituality |

There is significant interest today in the subject of spirituality, understood as a search for personal meaning, fulfilment, and transcendence. After considering the factors which give rise to such interest and the nature of spirituality generally, this unit will focus on the distinctive tradition of Christian Spirituality. Beginning with a detailed study of the some of the classical writings in the history of Christian spirituality-especially the Bible-this unit will explore the unique role the Christian tradition has and continues to play in providing a framework for individual and societal meaning and the nurturing of personal relationship with God.
