PHIL246: Philosophy of Religion |
This unit examines central issues in the philosophy of religion, such as the nature and rationality of religious belief, the function (psychological and social) of religious practice, and arguments for and against the existence of God. This is not a unit in 'comparative religion', but one in which we apply insights of philosophers (both those sympathetic and those critical of religion) to help us understand religious belief and practice.
