SOC300: Internships in Social Research |
This unit provides you with an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience undertaking applied or policy related research while working in a research team or an NGO setting. Through on-campus workshops and a practical research placement it gives you an opportunity to undertake social research first hand and gain valuable professional experience. As well, it will encourage you to exercise creative thinking and problem solving, while developing personal confidence and professional contacts.
The internship will usually be undertaken one or more days a week over a semester, but may, in some case, be undertaken as a block. The unit is open to all social science and other students who have completed SOC234 and who are nearing the end of their degrees.
