SOC395: Globalisation, Citizenship and Sustainability |
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the globalisation of contemporary society and politics. It examines debates over the meaning of globalisation; the key forms of global connection; the emergence of global spaces; the question of power and imperialism; and the making of global political institutions and movements. The course arcs backward, to ponder the history of globalisation, and forward, to contemplate recent arguments over the future of global society.
