The Social Health programs aim to produce graduates with: · a broad knowledge of the personal and social contexts within which social health issues arise and are maintained; · an understanding of the impact of social health issues, and the current responses to these phenomena; · a critical appreciation of the variety of preventive strategies, and a basic competence in developing and implementing such strategies; · a critical appreciation of the variety of current treatment approaches and goals, and of their relationship to current health care practices; · an appreciation of the need for and the role of research in this area.
