AHPG811: Archaeological Practice

D1, X1: Students complete six weeks fulltime participation in an excavation in Egypt in December and January. Numbers in this option are strictly limited and students must apply prior to enrolment.

D2, X2: Students may complete one of the following when available:

a) the residential field school run by the Anglo-American excavation team at Pompeii (five weeks in July-August);

b) the summer school on Ancient Parmphylia in Turkey run by the University of Adelaide (four weeks in July).(Not available 2006).

D1, X1, D2, X2: Fieldwork in an archaeological site in Israel and report on excavation and their significance. Site and report to be negotiated with convenor.

Students are individually responsible for meeting any tuition and residential charges and otherwise for planning and paying for travel and accommodation.
