BIOL357: Physiology I

This unit in neurophysiology deals with the central nervous system control of various human body systems. It considers internal and external environment perception via sensory pathways, central processing and how the body responds to these sensations. The nervous system control of muscle movement is considered in detail. This unit also considers neuroendocrine interaction controlling the function of the gonads, thyroid and adrenal glands. Practical classes make use of computer-assisted learning, tutorial type discussions and experimental laboratory techniques. This unit is available in the composite mode.
