ECHL111: Elements of Drama |
The unit begins with an examination of ritual and its relationship to performance, focusing on such elements as movement/dance, costume/mask, sound/music and dramatic structure. Lectures and workshops cover movement, voice, improvisation, text analysis, character development, and the role of the actor, director, designer and writer. Students will develop skills in the critical assessment of play production and gain an overview of current theatre practice in Australia. Students will be given opportunities to interact with unit material through the unit's website: http://online.mq.edu.au/online/ECHL111/public/index.htm/.
