ECHL212: Visual Arts: Perspectives of Women |
This unit examines the place of women in the visual arts as producers and as subjects of representation. An analysis of the structures and modes of art production from the Renaissance to the twentieth century reveals differences in art practice, for women and men. The ideologies of femininity and the division between the arts and crafts will also be examined. The construction of images in a visual arts medium is an option for one assignment in the unit. Students will be given opportunities to interact with unit materials through the unit's website: http://online.mq.edu.au/pub/ECHL212/.
