ENGL261: Paradigm Shift: 1700-1830 |
What happened to literature under the pressures of the Cold War, globalisation, computerisation and postmodernity? The unit examines some major directions taken by literature in the latter half of the twentieth century. We start with literature of the Absurd and Beat writing, then look at postmodernist fiction and poetry and the effects on contemporary fiction of previous postmodernist writing.
