HIST359: World Histories |
Students will be invited to explore changing visions of the nature and purpose of world history and its reception by other historians and the wider community. Topics examined will include changing visions of 'world' in ancient and modern writings, the connection between world history and predictions about the future, Euro-and Americocentrism, women and world history and the use of world history to draw attention to topical issues such as globalisation, global warming and threats to biodiversity.
