HLTH300: Health Placement

(V2 Session dates: 7 December 2006 - 19 February 2007)

This unit provides an off-campus, workplace-based integrated learning experience in a health-related field for students in their third year of study for a Bachelor of Health degree or equivalent. Placements may be undertaken in a range of areas (e.g. health policy, planning, promotion, research, development, and/or education) and across a range of sectors (e.g. government, media, industry, unions, non-profit, industry and professional associations, etc). Students will complete a discrete project during their placement (e.g. researching and writing a report on a specific issue). As far as possible, placements are arranged in accordance with each student's background, skills, experience, professional/academic interests and career aspirations.

Students will be required to complete approximately 20 days on work placement plus 3 one day workshops on campus.
