MCSI203/303: Seeking the Good Society: Conversations on Justice, Freedom and Order |
Underlying theory and practice in many sectors of society such as government, law, business, economics, education, sport, religion is a consideration of what constitutes a just and good society. This unit examines issues and trends such as social justice, the welfare system, economic rationalism, globalisation, multiculturalism, and inclusiveness. It also includes a historical survey of past "conversations", which highlights important underlying themes in relation to concepts of justice, freedom, and order, and thus provides a broader context for reflection on present trends in public policy and community debate.
