SOC370: Youth, Culture and Society |
The unit examines youth in contemporary societies from different sociological perspectives. It outlines the various sociological theories and analyses of youth. It examines such issues as: youth and media, youth, globalisation and human rights; youth in different cultural contexts; gender and youth; the conduct of young people; youth and violence. It illustrates these aspects by referring to school, leisure, relationships and work.
