ABEC150: Indigenous Health Issues - Traditional and Contemporary |
This unit will focus on issues and practices related to the physical and mental well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders from traditional settings through the period of invasion to the present. The effect of the presence of Europeans on the health and nutrition of indigenous Australians will be considered throughout the period from the mission days to the present. The current state of health and well-being of ATSI children will be included as well as government policy strategies in relation to health issues.
