ABEC340: Management in Early Childhood ATSI Contexts |
Students will examine a range of early childhood services and management models including those appropriate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The unit aims to acquaint students with the knowledge and skills required for working within and managing young children's programs. They will analyse the current literature on the components of quality and its implications for planning appropriate programs for young children and their families.
Topics within this unit will help students understand the management requirements of a range of children's services and the impact of relevant government policy. Topics will cover legal, political, financial and administration issues relevant to the role of the Director in services for children particularly services which include ATSI children.
In addition, students will examine factors influencing the children's services industry and the role of cultural and community advocacy.
