BCA814: Bayesian Statistical Methods |
Topics will include one-parameter models with conjugate prior distributions; standard models containing two or more parameters; the role of noninformative prior distributions; relationship between Bayesian methods and classical approaches to statistics; computational techniques for Bayesian analysis, especially the use of simulation from posterior distributions, using the WinBUGS package; Bayesian methods for fitting hierarchical models to complex data structures.
