CBMS317: Plants: Cells and Molecules |
In this unit you will develop an understanding of the relationship between plant structure and function at the cell and molecular levels by studying a number of topics such as plant cell structure, photosynthesis, translocation of photosynthate, respiration, assimilation of nutrients, plant defence, and plant development. You will be exposed to topical issues in plant science, including genetic manipulation and biotechnology, and you will learn and practice the techniques of plant cell and molecular biology. The unit is run in day mode only. Laboratory sessions are scheduled weekely.
