CUL310: Production, Performance and Writing |
This course encourages interaction between performance theory and practice, exploring ways of communication via various performance modalities (corporeal, verbal, visual, aural, kinetic, spatial) to test issues and debates. It explores the different modes of knowledge production involved in writing and in performance. Students will devise experiments and examine their theoretical implications as well as producing performances on the basis of theories. The practical production will be regarded as working models or prototypes for analysis and theoretical discussion. The time spent in class will consist of approximately 20% production exercise, 40% production analysis, and 40% theoretical discussion. This unit is recommended for students who plan to advance their performance study into HDR level.
