ECH214: Young Children's Language, Literature and Literacy |
This unit explores the theory and practice of early childhood language, literature and literacy development. It begins with the study of the literary qualities and literacy potential of a range of children's literature and introduces the functional approach of the K-6 English syllabus; then focuses on the young child's language development as the child moves from home to school. Reading and writing processes are explored as well as implementation and evaluation strategies.
