GEOS805: Advanced Structure and Metamorphism |
This unit considers processes by which rocks become deformed and metamorphosed. Practical work includes kinematic analysis of brittle and ductile structures, superposed folding, deformation and metamorphic textures, metamorphic mineral assemblages etc. A field trip provides experience in unravelling the history of complex rocks and practice in detailed outcrop analysis.
