GSE829: Pollution Control and Waste Management |
Scientific and engineering concepts in pollution control serve as an introduction to the consideration of topics in air quality management: particulates, vapour and gas, odour; combustion principles and stack design. Physical, chemical and biological treatment of waste water leads to the study of their confinement and treatment of surface waters. The unit concludes with a survey of noise control, industrial solid waste and hazardous waste management.
