HLTH107: Introduction to Human Anatomy

This unit is designed for students from diverse backgrounds while being a core unit in the Chiropractic program. Focusing on the understanding of basic anatomy, with its classic three-dimensional concepts and regional relationships as well as the structural co-ordination of the human body's physiological systems, Anatomy is the cornerstone unit for any student interested in the health of the human mind and body. This unit provides an introduction and explanation of anatomical terms and a description of the macroscopic structures of tissues and organs, with a particular emphasis on musculoskeletal anatomy.

Also included will be: reproductive, respiratory, cardiovascular and neuroanatomy. It is a mixed modality unit making use of online features, face-to-face teaching, as well as hands-on examination of sophisticated 3-dimensional models, X-ray films, CT scans, and other medical and biotechnical mediums.
