ICOM100: Introduction to International Communication

This unit aims to develop an understanding of the different theoretical, contextual and practical issues associated with the field of international communication. It begins by considering the history of international communication and its contribution to understanding the role of personal, organisational and national perceptions and communications in creating global linkages and interaction. The unit concludes by examining the institutional settings of international communication through case studies on the advertising, public relations, new media, global media and development communication.
