ICOM101: Intercultural Relations |
This unit will deal with intercultural aspects of international communication as they impact on individuals. It will discuss social scientific, interpretive and critical approaches to intercultural communication. Also, it will address the relationship between technology and intercultural communication. It will examine the way that subjectivity is created and experienced as the result of a process of encounter with otherness, and how the globalisation of communication increasingly makes the experience of self in relation to another a transnational as well as intercultural experience.
