ISS807: Border Security and Migration |
The modern sovereign state was established on the assumption of a fixed population. The traditional global movements of peoples are increasingly challenging this assumption driven in part by the unequal impacts of economic globalisation and the conflict that results from it. This unit examines the nature of this movement and the measures being taken by states and international organisations to control it.
