JPN122: A Survey of Japanese Culture |
A general education unit which examines both traditional and contemporary Japanese 'culture' from the perspective of culture reflecting society. Theoretical and historical examination of some aspects of culture are accompanied by a practical introduction to Japan's cultural assets. The unit is conducted in English and there is no formal linguistic requirement. Assessment will be based on essay assignments, class presentations and a series of quizzes.
