JPN261: Translation and Writing Japanese Workshop 1 |
This unit aims at cultivating the fundamental and practical skills of translation (mainly English to Japanese) and writing in Japanese. It will focus on the application of already acquired knowledge of grammar in actual writings and translations. The expansion of the students' vocabulary and commonly used phrases will also form a component of this unit. Japanese logic structure, textual coherence and the use of rhetoric will also be examined. This unit offers skill-based language training. A significant portion of assessment is based on regular assignments of practical work.
