JPN378: Japanese Research Option

This unit provides students with the opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of Japan through research on a particular subject. Students will, after choosing a research topic in consultation with the unit coordinator, undertake a thesis. Within the framework of Japanese studies, research topics can be chosen from a wide spectrum of Japan-related fields including (but not limited to) Japanese culture, history, social and contemporary issues, mass media, socio-economic issues and international relations involving Japan. Japanese native speakers may enrol in this unit.
