MATH106: A View of Mathematics |
This is a general-education unit of study, and is more about mathematics than of mathematics and is not a designated science unit. It is designed for students who, while perhaps having little mathematical knowledge, would like to be able to enjoy mathematics and who recognise its importance as part of our cultural heritage. The emphasis is on developing the ideas and the logical approach of the subject rather than on acquiring technical skills.
