MCSI132: Classroom Landscapes: Exploring Inner and Outer Realities |
When we reflect on a landscape, we consider its appearance, the shapes, forms, colours and elements, and the ways these components combine distinctively in particular localities. In this unit, we look at the landscape of classrooms, especially those in Christian faith-based schools. We also explore the inner terrain of classrooms: their character and the relationship between teachers' inner and outer realities. Students will engage in reflective observation of classroom practice in a Christian faith based school for 4 days. They will be placed with an experienced teacher who will assist the reflective process. Students are not required to undertake any teaching.
