MHPG917: A Global History of Food |
How did the potato travel from Peru to Ireland? Who are 'les rostbifs'? Why has curry become Britain's national dish? This unit explores the historical relationship between food and globalisation from the Columbian Exchange in the early sixteenth century to the impact of European colonialism and the more recent phenomenon of world 'hamburger culture'.
