MUS211: Digital Rhythms and Dance Cultures |
This unit will examine the social, cultural and historical frameworks of digital and dance musics. Beginning with digital-dance's origins in the avant-garde and Hip Hop scenes, the unit will focus on case studies from different genres such as German Robot Pop and Australian Electronica. Through these studies students will cover issues such as dance music's operation in contemporary discourses of activism and cultural freedom.
