This unit addresses contemporary strategic issues affecting policing in Australasia and neighbouring states. Issues cover the police role in countering terrorism, the professionalising of policing, off-shore policing, intelligence-gathering and intelligent policing, the power of forensic investigation in modern policing, the policing value equation, and security in modern communications.
