PSY314: Applied Child Psychology |
This unit reviews the theories, empirical evidence, and policy issues related to children's social development. This includes a critical appraisal of contemporary research findings in the major areas of social development. In addition, the application of these findings to contemporary social and policy issues is highlighted (eg bullying, gender inequality, child witnesses, juvenile justice, child abuse etc). Assessment consists of an end-of-semester examination (multiple choice and short answers), an essay or policy report, and a tutorial presentation.
