An examination of the basic assumptions and procedures of psychodynamic psychotherapy. Comparisons with other current therapies will be made where feasible. Content includes the following areas: theoretical underpinnings of the psychodynamic position, basic rules of the technique, selection of clients, the therapeutic alliance resistance and acting out, etc.
