PSYC922: Couple Therapy |
This unit is offered in alternate years.
This unit will develop theoretical underpinnings of working therapeutically with couples from a range of systemic and self psychological perspectives. It will concentrate on the development of therapeutic techniques linked to the theoretical perspectives presented. Emphasis will be placed on assessment or conceptualising skills, interviewing skills, and in-session and end of session interventions. Attention will also be given to special problems of dealing with issues of separation, domestic violence and same sex couples.
