PSYS834: Counselling and Professional Practice |
This unit provides theoretical and skills training in counselling practice with a focus on the counsellor's contribution to the counselling alliance. Issues and skills training in the recognition and classification of psychological distress, the assessment and management of high risk behaviours and appropriate referral. Codes of ethics/professional practice in the context of hypothetical presentations and current work are discussed.
