RSN105: Russian Society and Culture |
This is a general education unit. It offers an overview of Russian society and cultural life. Topics include literature, theatre and cinema, music, painting, architecture and others. This is a study of the Russian society and the cultural contributions made by Russia to the world. The unit is conducted in English and no knowledge of Russian is required. In addition to lectures the unit will include films and other visual materials. Students, it is hoped, will be able to acquire a deeper knowledge and better understanding of Russian culture. Assessment is based on six assignments, one essay and a class presentation.
